Possibly the greatest influence in Missouri marching percussion, Terry Artis has been educating youth in percussive performance for 25 years.
As a performer, Mr. Artis is a recipient of the Louis B. Armstrong National Award for Jazz Excellence, as well as numerous awards for Outstanding Musicianship from the National Association of Jazz Educators (NAJE). Among his many accomplishments, Artis is the winner of the Crestwood Guitar Center's "Drum-Off '99", Mars Music's "Hot Sticks Challenge 2000", Bridgeton Guitar Center's "Drum-Off 2001", Fairview Heights, IL. Guitar Center's "Drum-Off 2007" and the Indianapolis Regional Guitar Center "Drum-Off 2007".
